The strategic report was restructured to deliver a clear and concise narrative flow. Market trends were explained ahead of the Chief Executive’s review to provide context for the new strategy, with quantification of the growth associated with the Group’s major markets included to highlight the scale of the strategic opportunity.
The Group’s new Strategy for Sustainable Growth followed, with the associated targets and a balanced set of financial and non-financial KPIs. The contents page was designed with pullouts to highlight the focus areas of strategy, sustainability and the Spectris Foundation. The ‘at a glance’ section was redesigned to show the simplified structure of the Group and present key operating performance measures.
The business review was also streamlined: the overall length of the report was reduced significantly, without compromising the content, design or overall readability.
