Nokia Corporation is a Finnish multinational telecommunications network infrastructure and technology company listed on NYSE, Nasdaq Helsinki and Euronext Paris. Its reporting suite consists of an Annual Report on Form 20-F, an English language Annual Report, and a Finnish language Annual Report.

Nokia needed its 2022 reporting suite to introduce a refreshed strategy and visual identity, align the content of the reports as closely as possible and improve the ‘fast read’. It also needed to better showcase the market context and opportunities and explain Nokia's new People strategy.

We designed Nokia's 2022 report to showcase the new brand’s vibrant colours and striking imagery. A quirky, intriguing image was used to create an eye-catching cover, and strong colour was chosen to delineate the business groups, create impact with charts and graphs and introduce bold dividers. Colour was also used to highlight the pillars of the new People strategy. The imagery chosen for the report blends abstract and ‘real life’, to convey the ways in which Nokia’s use of technology facilitates human activities and interactions.

The reporting suite delivers a vibrant, on-brand experience that achieves consistency of core content across all three reports despite the need to comply with different regulatory frameworks. 

The ‘Nokia Platform’ section at the start of the report summarises the key pillars of the business: its technology-driven purpose; its commitment to using its technological know-how to address its market opportunities; and the culture that underpins its ability to deliver on its commitment.

‘Nokia blue’ is used to signpost the ‘fast read’, highlighting section summaries, quotes and pullout figures and the six new strategic pillars. This is supplemented by infographics, including the strategy and technology wheel that draws together the connecting threads of Nokia’s technology capability and market drivers.

The animation takes viewers on a journey through the highlights of the company's new strategic platform, financial performance and key operating achievements for the year. The simple visuals allow the key messages to shine, conveying a powerful sense of Nokia's renewed focus and identity.
