Therapeutics biotech pioneers Vaccibody had a game-changing modular platform built on cutting-edge technology. Despite huge growth ambitions, their progress was hampered by their complex proposition, undifferentiated identity, and a name which failed to reflect their future, beyond vaccines.
To stand out in a fiercely competitive market they required a new name and brand. Beyond reflecting the potential efficacy of their vaccines, our solution needed to highlight the company’s other unique attributes, including its next generation technology and modular platform.

Following a robust naming development process, we introduced and agreed on Nykode. Inspired by the company's Norwegian roots, the name translates as ‘new code’, and connects the platform’s modularity with its potential to rewrite modern medicine. We developed a brand purpose reflecting their role in the world, then reframed their positioning and built out a compelling brand personality.

While the organisation does extraordinary things, how they presented themselves wasn’t one of them. Taking inspiration from Nykode’s technology, we created a visual identity that cuts through typical category conventions. The new logo is a stylised visualisation of a molecule. Developed from the marque, the graphic identity expands into a system of triangular components that reflect the modularity and flexibility of their offer.

With their new brand in place, it was time to share it with the world. Working in partnership with the client, we developed an activation plan, narrative and supporting assets. The successful launch encompassed internal events alongside a series of external activities across multiple channels, repositioning the brand as pioneering leaders in their category.
